About the event
Join me for Purposeful Pause in the Pines: Join me for a 90-ish minute Mindful Meeting at Rancocas Nature Center (RNC), located in Westhampton, NJ. (not to be confused with Rancocas State Park entrance, RNC has a separate entrance can be found on Google Maps when you enter address given)
The intention behind this experience is to remind people to take a pause from "real life" to mindfully slow down, get into nature, breathe deep, look around, appreciate the beauty, and honor their connection with the planet. Doing it with others is even more fun!
General Format:
Meet the group on the deck attached to the nature center building at the front entrance to the building where restrooms are located. Restrooms officially open at 12pm, hopefully an RNC employee will be there early to let us in if we need to use the facilities.
Then we will walk as a group over to a patch of pines within the preserve where we will sit on the Earth. Students can bring a yoga mat or blanket to sit on.
I will lead centering, breathing, some light spinal mobility movements, a mini guided awareness meditation, and initiate a Silent Walk. Each member of the group will be invited to silence their phones to alerts, set an alarm for 20 minutes, wander around the preserve with mindful appreciation and a promise to stay silent during the exploring experience. After 20 minutes members meet back up, I lead brief mindful grounding, ending with opportunity for members to share experiences with the group if called.
About me: My name is Veronica Carpenter, I am a Philly native currently living in Audubon NJ and am a Certified Yoga Therapist. I specialize in helping stressed humans find balance in practical and playful ways to support self love and living aligned with their spirit. I teach people, in a down to earth type of way, how to use the ancient practices and principles of yoga in their lives to support overall wellness. My lens is trauma-informed. I am forever a curious explorer and nature lover with a hippie heart. I am excited to bring accessible stress relieving mindfulness and yoga special events in nature for those in the area. I also offer virtual Yoga Therapy sessions, accessible group yoga classes and facilitate monthly group sacred spaces called Soulhood Circles. I live a Yogic lifestyle, applying principles to align myself and the world around me with love.
Rancocas Nature Center is a non-profit organization situated on 210 acres of the Rancocas State Park with 3 miles of hiking trails through meadows, forest, and wetlands in Westampton NJ. The Nature Center has been operating since 1977 and has been providing environmental education for the surrounding community during that time, presenting programs both on and off-site for groups including schools, scouts, libraries, senior citizens, as well as the general public.
We hope the community will benefit from this offering. Reserve your spot and tell your friends. No Yoga experience needed. Everything is accessible for the average human.
