In honor of my favorite teacher, Ram Dass, this week's theme is "Be Here Now."
Honestly- how often are you able to just be in the moment?
Typically the unchecked human mind leads the owner of said mind into thinking about the past or projecting fear onto the future. The average person can find it extremely difficult to be still with their own thoughts. Their mind is literally pinging constantly and pulling them in all directions at once. It can feel extremely uncomfortable to be still with the mind.
This is where practices of Hatha Yoga come in. Hatha yoga chills out the mind through focusing it in the moment over and over again while breathing, bending, folding, opening, twisting, strengthening and then ultimately letting it all go.
Over time with consistent practice your mind becomes more settled as you understand the body and breathing more. You begin to pay more attention to staying present in the moment- noticing when you lose your way and then simply bringing yourself back. You do it while I lead you in classes then eventually you do this in your life.
This is the work and it isn't easy but it's worth it. Remember what Ram Dass always talked about- the work you put in on yourself is your gift to everyone in your life.
Let's get into the moment together this week.
Classes M-F something for everyone from beginner to intermediate.
